Intricon Corp invests $30M in automation, plans to boost robotics team
MSP Business Journal in it’s latest article, describes how Intricon plans to invest in automation and boost its robotics team over the next few years for the Arden Hills and Vadnais Heights facilities.
Excerpt from the article:
Over the next three years, the Arden Hills company plans to spend another $10 million on robotics and other technology that will increase its use of automation from 40% today (and just 20% in 2023) to nearly 70% at its facilities in Arden Hills and Vadnais Heights.
Intricon first introduced automation into its local manufacturing lines in 2015. The company hired one automation engineer and three automation technicians to begin designing the company’s first systems. Today, Intricon’s in-house robotics team includes more than 20 full-time employees and is expected to more than double over the next three years.
With a robust robotics department, the company also will sell the automation systems it designs if clients decide they want to manufacture the components themselves, says Scott Drikakis, who joined Intricon last year as vice president of sales and marketing.
